NATURE PARKS OF SLOVENIA

Nature parks from the long-term perspective of natural parks, biodiversity and unique landscape features represent the most valuable areas of the Slovenian region. One of the protected areas is a national park, three regional and 34 cross-country parks and 66 nature reserves and 1200 natural pillars, which comprise 13% of the Slovenia region. In addition, Slovenia has two geoparks, some botanical gardens and 144 monuments of planned nature. There are some remarkable areas that deserve formal preservation and some are valuable.
